AS Saint-Étienne has announced the signing of Nantes defender Dennis Appiah on a deal that runs until 2025.
Appiah has made 22 appearances for Nantes this season, but was given the green light to leave the club by manager Antoine Koumbouaré over the Christmas period, alongside Brazilian defender Fábio who is set to return home to join Grêmio.
The former Monaco and Caen defender has played a total of 106 matches for Nantes, and has also previously played for Anderlecht in Belgium, where he experienced Europa and Champions League competition.
Appiah will wear the number eight shirt for Les Verts.
Speaking about his move, Appiah stated that although AS Saint-Étienne is a team that knows how to play football, he feels that he can bring some "aggressiveness" and "experience" to the club. Currently, AS Saint-Étienne sits at the bottom of Ligue 2 with only 12 points to their name.

Appiah will leave the Champion Europe competition to join the Second Division Europe leagues. He'll be hoping to keep St Etienne in Ligue 2 or risk losing his coverage completely should they drop another division at the end of the season as Sorare does not cover France's third tier.
His Rare Card has most recently sold for 0.027 ETH - Buyers should proceed with caution as this is a huge jump from the 0.083 ETH he was selling for just a month ago.
